Bank holiday at The Pad – Jack Beats & Utah Saints

Posted by Big Boss Man On August - 24 - 2009

Utah SaintsTwo massive names in the world of dance music visit The Pad over bank holiday when Electro kings Jack Beats take over the decks on the Friday, followed by two true Legends on the Sunday – Utah Saints.

Jack beats are one of THE biggest names floating around at the minute, Djing the biggest parties and clubs around the globe. Made up of Beni G from Mixologists and former world turntablist champion Plus One from Scratch perverts, these guys make music for one sole perpose – to make you dance. They are being raved about from underground radio and now to radio 1, with Zane Lowe and Kissy sell out making their most recent EP ‘Get down’ track of the week. Known as well for their filthy remixes as well as their own bass heavy tunes, these guys will not be playing a club the Pads size again for a long time.

Sunday see’s Utah Saints touching down in Bedford. They were described as “the first true stadium house band” (by Bill Drummond), though their music is difficult to place into one particular genre and they have been compared to Underworld, Fluke, The KLF, and even Ministry or Nine Inch Nails and their Dj sets are just as varied as their comparisons. Back in the 90’s they were HUGE, selling out large arenas, but with the re emergence of dance music across the UK they found themselves thrust back into the spotlight last year when modern acts like Van She and High contrast started remixing their tunes landing them back in the top 10, scoring them the most played track on radio last year with #1 – ‘Something good’. Doors open at 10.30pm, arrive early to avoid dissapointment and its cheaper before midnight!
